'The seaweed is always greener in somebody else’s lake'

So, wish me luck! My first beauty blog! I've never really been a lipstick kind of girl. Or for that matter, a makeup kind of girl. If i go out, i'll wear makeup, but wearing it to go to work, what is the point? I have a very manual job and find that it's pointless.

I went to London the first bank holiday of this year, and i have never bought anything from Harrods, or from MAC, so i thought i'd kill two birds with one stone. I bought a red lipstick. When i got home and applied it, i fell in love! My only issue is that it makes my lips very dry, but if i apply Vaseline first, it doesn't go on as smooth. The colour is amazing, and can be layered up to make a dark red, or just one or two, which gives your lips some colour, but not a drastic. However it does last a long time, which makes it more worth the money!

While at Harrods i saw another MAC lipstick that i loved, but didn't buy at the time. Since then, i have been looking for a specific colour of lipstick. When shopping in boots i spotted a lady wearing the lipstick i wanted, so my lovely boyfriend asked her what it was, and i ended up purchasing a Clinique lipstick or 'chubby stick' as they call it. It was a bright pink, and didn't make my lips dry at all! It lasted a long time, and again could alter the colour depending on how many layers applied. The pink also makes me look very tanned, which is always good for a pale person. It also makes me feel very perfect (I know i'm far from it!), but it actually makes me feel good about my appearance!

Between the two i have to say that the Clinique 'chubby stick' is my favorite! It makes my lips feel very smooth and lasts such a long time, it is very moisturizing and would definitely buy from them again!

Does anyone else have any makeup brands they use for lipstick? Or do you have any opinions on these lipsticks?

P.S. The first person that can guess what film my title is from, i will mention your blog in my next post!

'My Precious'

This is my blog post that i promised AGES ago, on how to DIY shorts. You may have seen my Levi shorts, that i wrote a post about, with a material patch on half of them. They cost a fortune to buy Levi shorts remade, so i thought it'd do it cheaper!  So bought some Levi shorts of Facebook for £7! The material was an old skirt i had, that i have never worn! After receiving the shorts, and cutting them down so they weren't so long, i drew out a pattern, just by putting paper over the shorts and drawing around the half i wanted. I then pinned this to the skirt, and cut it out. I hand sewed it on to the shorts, which isn't really that hard, making sure i turned the edges over, so it doesn't fray! I am proud of how they turned out at such a small price too!

Some small tips i have:
Tip one: iron your material and shorts first.
Tip two: Don't cut your shorts too short, like i think i may have!
Tip three: Make sure you don't sew the material all the way through round the pockets, else you won't have access to your pockets! Just go through the pocket and not the actual leg!

If anyone needs any help with their shorts, just ask!

“My life is as good as an Abba song. It’s as good as Dancing Queen'

So after buying a Diana camera about a month ago now, for a trip to London, i finally have my photos back! This made me think it was probably perfect timing to do a review! About the camera itself, it looks AMAZING! The amount of people that were staring at it hanging around my neck was unbelievable, it was almost like nobody had seen a camera before! After getting used to loading a film into it, it was alot easier. However the first time, i did ruin some film, but practice makes perfect hey?! Taking the actual photo was easy! As long as you remember to wind it to the next one, which i may have forgot to do, hence my picture with two images on it! I haven't got round to using the flash yet, but my god, that makes the camera look beautiful! And the colour filters with it, i bet the make the images look good, but again, not got round to using them yet! So i collected my photos, four weeks after taking them to be developed! (Apparently getting a 120mm film developed is harder, and more expensive then you would imagine!) I have to say i'm slightly disappointed with some of the photos, but again, i think i set my standards for myself quite high! There are only 10 photos, instead of the 16, but that is probably my fault! I still have another film that is half used, that i can't wait to get developed, hopefully it'll be better! One thing i have learnt, remember to focus the lens, i didn't even realize you had to do this until my boyfriend pointed it out, thankfully, they were all in focus! Also, you have to take the photos off to the side a bit, which i have noticed now i have my photos back. All the things i wanted to be in the middle are just off to the side a bit! D'oh! As for the two photos that are exactly the same, i have no idea what happened there! I don't even remember taking the photos! Must be the ghosts again! If anyone has one of these cameras, i'd love some tips! I am also in the process of hunting down a La Sardina camera, so i have a 35mm camera too! If anyone has one for sale, who is in England, let me know! :D

Korin <3

P.S: I am still after 35mm films for my bag project, so can you let me know if you have any?
P.P.S: If anyone can help me with my blog layout, and pictures, i've noticed some people put writing over theres, how do you do that? HELP NEEDED!
P.P.P.S: If anyone would be interested in buying copies of any photos, let me know, and i can find prices for prints/copies!

'You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!'

So, this blog post is going to be boring, no pictures or anything, yeah, I'm sat in a digger at work. It has made me realise, I make to many plans. So far, I have to finish off my dress, my skirt, a jacket and a patchwork quilt. As well as start some shorts that I have material for. Also, doing my liebster award post! I have even started planning other things to make. I just get so bored sticking to one thing! My mum has even put an order in for me!  I even know what I want to make after, a film bag and some decoupage doc martens. My issue with both these things though is that it's going to take a while. So this is my pledge! If anyone has any old 35mm films, used or expired would you send them to me?(; I'd love to make a bag without spending a fortune! Also, if anyone has any doc martens(I doubt this one) I don't even mind if they're not my size, and extremely battered, if just love to decoupage a pair but would hate to spend a fortune on some and ruin them! If you have any of these items, feel free to email me!(: Thankyou all! I will post finishing pictures!

'Do or do, there is no try.'

So these past few weeks i have bought 2 pairs of shoes! And they're heels at that! I LOVE shoes, and wish i had millions of pairs!! I just can't help myself! Pair number one were from bank. Normally i HATE shops like that, never have i bought anything from there before, mainly because it's so expensive, and i think some of the things are a tad cheap looking. However i fell in love with these shoes, and they're only £19! In the sale from £55! And the next pair, of the market in Birmingham  on my day shopping trip there! (I didn't even visit the Doc Marten shop!) Both have spikes on, another thing i vowed i would never wear! They're both incredibly high, but for a short girl, i need high shoes!

I'm always looking for a bargain pair of shoes, and next on the list is a red pair i think! It's so difficult for me to buy shoes i like, one foots bigger then the other, i hate my feet so i won't wear sandles/peep toes! And it's summer, there are NO nice shoes about! If anyone has any shoes they'd like to donate to this cause, i'm a size 5 in heels, or 6 in flats! I like Doc Martens, these will be greatly appreciated! Haha! Has anybody got any good shops/online shops they'd recommend for reasonably priced shoes?

Korin <3

P.S. The pink/blue ones are from Bank, the black ones are from the market. I am aware the photo is the wrong way around, but i'm lazy, okay?

'Well, nobodies perfect'

How many people have heard about/done/doing/thinking about doing the 30 day shred? Well in 57 days(no I'm not counting!) I'm going on holiday. I understand that being a size 8/10 isn't a big size, so I don't really need to diet, however I am the heaviest I have been in a year. So I'm planning on watching what I'm eating and doing the 30 day shred too. My question to you is whether I should do it twice, right after each other, to make it 59 days. Or, only do it in the week. Or, spread each level out over 20 days instead of 10 days to make it longer. Argh! I don't know what to do! Anyway, me and my boyfriend are going to do it together, so we can be beach babes together! It's more about us both feeling confident in beachwear as apposed to needing to loose any weight! If anyone else is doing it, keep me updated, as i'm one that gets bored with things like this SO easily! So does it actually work to any of you that have tried it? And is anyone else going anywhere lovely for their holiday this year?

"After all, tomorrow is another day!"

Everybody has a dream in life, right? Some people's are to do with a house, or a car. Mine, is to own my own clothes shop. It'll be one of them old fashioned tailor shops, where ladies come in and have clothes designed and made for them. I even know what it'd be called, and it'd be next to Prada in London. Harrods and Selfridges would stock some clothes too, as well as other large department styles stores. All major cities around the world would have one of my stores too. There would be 'off the rail' items that people could buy, then tailored clothes, made exactly to people's specifications, and body size. Their clothes would fit like a glove. Dresses can be made like this, but id make all clothes, exactly how the customer would want them. My grandma would work there too, knitting things for me, because I can't knit, and I have no desire to learn either.

My grandad said to me today, after showing him everything I've made 'you'll be supplying mark and Spencer's soon!' Everybody also has reasons they can't accomplish their dreams, there are currently a few reasons I can't. Funding being a main one, I need to learn how to draw patterns, and to learn you need money, and someone to teach you. However, working nights makes this harder too, as I can't go to night school. Another issue, I need a kick ass sewing machine, another thing that needs a lot of money, of which I don't have. I mean, my sewing machine is adequate, but it just doesn't do all the fancy things it needs to be able to do. Time is another big thing, between working, and spending time with my boyfriend, I sew. It's not enough time to learn, or teach yourself new things. When I deem myself good enough, I will start making small things to sell on, not made to measure though, to try and make some money for my future. If anyone knows of someone/a place that'll teach me how to draw patterns, on the midlands area, can you let me know? And if anyone has any business ideas/ways to start funding my business can you also let me know? If you look at my 'a blog sale page' all money made from there will go towards my business too! I really want to make my dream my life, so I do something everyday that I love! If I dream big, maybe one day ill be big. No point underestimating myself!

'There's no place like home'

Sorry it's been such a while since i did a blog! Here goes! A few weeks ago I found a Facebook business that made beautiful jewellery, at extremely reasonable prices. Not only were items between £1-£5 they were all original and very me. I happened to notice a competition they were running and entered, because you can't win if you don't enter! Yes, I did win, £15 worth of my choice of jewellery. I was so excited! Maybe with how my luck is, ill win the lottery soon! It took me HOURS to choose which items I wanted, and decided on 3 necklaces and 2 sets of earrings. A few days later they arrived, all packaged nicely.

I've never really been a jewellery lover, but these items were so vintage. I've worn them all since I got them, and I'm so happy with the quality of them all, especially for the price! They live up to, and exceed my expectations, i would've been very happy to pay £15 and receive these beauties! Lots of people have commented on how beautiful they are! I will definitely be back for more! I'd love for you all to go over to Blahgah Jewellery, and give her page a 'like' and tell her I sent you! You may just find something you fall in love with!

'Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'. That's goddamn right!'

Please help me!!!
Just a quick post today! I'm looking at buying a film camera. You may have read that i wanted one in my wish list i posted here.(Click!) So I've found two that i love! One comes in two different options. My main worry is getting the films, and getting them printed, and how much that all costs! If anyone knows of any good prices/places to get films developed and where you can buy films let me know! These are my three options (camera option one and two are the same, they just take different films.) Also if you have any other film camera that are within a small budget, let me know! Please note, i may not be buying the certain design, and i won't be spending this much, as i'll be ebaying them!

The main reason i have found these cameras and i love them is because they look so vintage and bright! So if you have any ideas, make sure they are similar! I know that 35mm films are cheaper to buy and develop, but do 120mm photos look better? I have no idea about these much! But i would love one for my trip to London this weekend so would need to make a hasty decision if i'm going to buy one and which one!

'Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.'

I've decided to do a slightly different blog today. My current wish list. It's going to be the top few things that i would LOVE at the minute. If your from any of these companies, and would like me to write a review about the items, feel free to send me one out! (i wish!!!)

1. A doc marten satchel. You may have read about the satchel i currently have, and yes, i bought that because i couldn't afford a Doc Marten one. But i NEED one!

2. A Fiat 500 or a Nissan Figaro. If i was rich enough i'd have both. However, i'm not. So i'd have a Fiat 500 for reliability, and the money it'd save me on petrol, tax, insurance etc. But, i'd have a Nissan Figaro for the looks, and the fact that only 20,000 were made!!! I LOVE Figaros, well specifically old cars, however everyone always tells me how unreliable they are, hence my need for a Fiat 500.

3. A DSLR camera. I've always loved taking photos, and would love an SLR camera, but the cost!! I'd want one with decent MP on them, therefore making the cost go up massively! Then all the various lenses you'd need, i just can't justify spending that sort of money!

4. A fur coat. Specifically, the one my grandma made for herself when she was younger. But how do i ask in a nice way for her to give/lend it to me?

5. An old SLR camera. Y'know, the ones with the film in? Specifically a black and white one! I think old photos are so beautiful and look so much nicer then the digital ones. These days films/printing would cost so much that is it really worthwhile getting one?

6. Doc Martens. I am in LOVE with Doc Martens. I have no specific ones that i want at the minute, but i still want some!

 8. LOTS of vintage clothes/shoes. I see things, and i could spend all the money in the world on the beautiful clothes/shoes! There are just so many gorgeous things i'd love to have!

9. Clothes patterns/material. I have recently started making my own clothes! (you will hear about them as soon as they're finished!) And clothes patterns and material is all so expensive recently! But i enjoy doing it so much that i'm not about to give up, and i secretly think it makes my grandma proud knowing i enjoy doing it!

I think that's all for now! What is on your current wish list?

'To infinity and beyond'

It was one of them nights, where, yet again, I was bored on my lunch break. So in true 'Vintage Queen' fashion I went eBay shopping. My regular searches consist of 'shirt', 'Doc martens' and 'vintage.' On this particular day it was a 'vintage shirt' that I went hunting for, and boy did I find one! It was a floral, dusty pink, remade shirt. The pockets and collar tips had been covered in leather with studs on! I loved it! It was being sold by Doba_tribe_clothing. So a few days later when the item was ending on auction, I instructed my mum to bid on it for me - items are always ending when I'm at work, or on my way! I always have a limit on what I'll spend, and for this item it was £10 without postage. I had explained to my mum how much I LOVED this shirt and would be so gutted if I didn't win it. So, as per usual, I won. However, she had gone over my limit, by 11p, but I was ecstatic!
So when my shirt arrived I have to say, I wasn't that impressed. The material wasn't what I expected, it was more cord material, I thought it'd be a thin, sheer shirt. I generally wear my shirts sleeves down, buttoned right up, well on this item, that doesn't look right. I have to say I haven't worn it out yet, and i'm not sure I'm going to. However, i haven't sold it on, because i still love it so much! So maybe one day, i'll wear it, and realise my love for it again! Saying that, I would buy from the seller again, they had described it perfectly, and if they made it, I am impressed by the quality! It makes me want to try and make something like this! If anybody has any ideas what i could wear this with, let me know! I'd love to wear it!

'If your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme.'

I'm doing an extra blog this week because I'm so excited! You may remember me talking about Umberto Giannini and the frizzi product I had bought, that actually worked! I mentioned that I wanted to try their shampoo and conditioner. I entered a competition with them to win a years supply of it.  And, well, i won!! I've never won anything! (Except eBay items, which my brother keeps reminding me of!) I got an email on Tuesday saying I had won, and by Thursday I had received my first months supply! The items were packaged so nicely, and inside was a bottle of shampoo, conditioner and a card congratulating me on winning! First things first, I smelt the products, and they smelt absolutely amazing! The items were also packaged nicely, in silver bottles. My grandma even mentioned how nice they looked! I couldn't wait to use them.

So as I finished work and got home at 7AM, I normally get right into bed. Not today. I got right in the shower, I couldn't wait to use my products! The shampoo had a slight blue tinge to it, but smelt like I was in a hairdressers. The conditioner made my hair feel so soft too! Normally I apply some moose, or I blow dry my hair when I get out the shower, but this time I was in a rush so decided to leave it for the ultimate test. After it had dried I was out, so it was look good or look VERY frizzy. Thankfully, it looked good! My hair felt so soft and IT WASN'T FRIZZY!!! For once, I had beautiful hair! I generally wash my hair every other day, and it starts looking greasy on the day it requires washing, but my hair didn't even look greasy, and was still not frizzy! I even take my new products out of the shower and hide them, just so no one else can use them! Umberto Giannini, you have changed my life! Now to get my hair all one colour, if you have a striper/method to wash my dye out, that you recommend, let me know!
