A really big announcement is just below...

A few months ago, a lady asked me to make her wedding dress. At first I said no, but my boyfriend persuaded me to do it. So I did. It was kept a massive secret, until the wedding day. I attended the reception, for the bride to walk up to me, hug me and nearly start crying. Thanks like that is worth more then anything else to me.

This lady put her faith into me, she believed in me even when I didn't. And because of her, I am so proud of myself. I feel like I'm floating on a little cloud, because I made someone's wedding dress. And she loved it!

Last Friday was my last day at my job, I handed my notice in to sew part time and work for my stepmum part time. The faith that I have in myself is because one lady believed in me. I would love for another lady to believe in me, to ask me to make her wedding dress. My dream is no longer to just sew, my dream is now to create beautiful dresses for beautiful brides. Perhaps I shouldn't be Brontelittleboutique anymore, maybe now I should be Brontës brides.

Maybe one day. Just maybe.

Oh dear!

Yesterday, was not a good day. To say the least! After finishing work at 12.45, getting home and sleeping awfully I was awake for 8 to go to sewing bee. Just as I was carrying my machine down the stairs, the handle snapped in half, and next thing I know my machine had fell all the way to the bottom of the stairs. There were machine feet everywhere, and a wreck sat crying! After calling my mum, I made it to sewing bee to see if my machine actually still worked. Well, it did! However I'm taking it back today to see what they say. Thankfully it's still under guarantee!

On a positive note, I've got some fabric in from my supplier (amazing friend) so I can start making made to order items! :D I've also got a skirt, headband, playsuit and boys romper suit pattern! Let the sewing begin!:D

Ekkkkk!!!

Just keep sewing

Today I've made a boys shirt. It's an age 10, which is the biggest size my pattern goes to. I had to be really brave, and sort through my fabric stash to decide what fabric i was willing to use for clothes. I decided about 5% of my whole stash was 'acceptable' to use. So this shirt is mopeds/scooters. I do have enough left for another shirt.

I also decided it was time to try and take better photos, I think I succeed, but opinions and tips are gratefully received.

Finally, I think my dad feels a bit left out, because I've made Scarlett, Zane and my stepmum clothes and not him. Soooo does anyone know of a good man's shirt pattern? (By shirt I mean collar and buttons)

One step at a time

So today I opened an etsy shop!:D I currently only have 2 listed items, as I need to talk to my fabric supplier about what fabric I'm getting.

The items listed are to have a shirt, or dress made, out of your own fabric! If you've bought some but never known what to use it for, send it to me and ill make a garment for you. Failing that, your child has a duvet cover that's been used too many times, I can use that too! In fact I make many things from duvet covers! Like the two dresses I made today - they're from a vintage duvet cover. I've made 2 and have enough material left for a custom order!

The dresses I've made are age 4 and age 5 and are £25 each plus p&p. If you fancy one, drop me a line and it's yours!:D
