'You had me at hello'

I'm the kind of girl that can do nothing with her hair. All the fancy 'anti frizz' creams, shampoos and conditioners, and nothing will stop my hair from being a massive frizzy, puffy mess.

I'd wash my hair, and have to wait hours, because, I can't even use a hairdryer. Seeing people with perfect hair frustrates me, knowing I spend hours on mine, for it to always look the same. Until I found two products. Yes, one is an anti-frizz cream that you use under the hairdryer. The item in question is called 'Frizzi frizz off blow dry cream' by Umberto Giannini.

The smell of the cream is lovely, and it’s not sticky to touch. It also doesn't make your hair look greasy, it also gets rid of frizz, so overall it’s a plus for me. There are also other products in this range that I may try out. So, I've found a cream that allows me to blow dry my hair, bonus! It still makes my hair go puffy, but no frizz! And the second item, some velcro rollers. I bought the biggest ones I could find, having relatively thick and long hair, and I bought twelve of them. When I thought of rollers I pictured an old lady, sat in a hair salon, under a hood hairdryer. But it's worth a try right? So after five attempts of not being able to use then I nearly gave up. I tried them with wet hair, and dry. And both times was a big flop. Wet hair, I never dried it for long enough, therefore it always ended up wavy and bushy. With dry hair, they made it relatively straight, but still bushy. So I asked the trusty grandmother, who thankfully, used to be a hairdresser. And viola, hair rollers made me have curly hair with, NO frizz!

So the secret? Wet hair! With my special cream. After I rolled my hair up, dried it for an hour, it was still slightly damp. But curly, and no frizz! (The no frizz excites me so much!) My trusty grandma suggested to put them in, in the morning and leave them in all day. Or using damp hair, not soaking wet hair. So now, I just need to go out and show my hair off! My next hair purchase will be sleep in rollers, hopefully they'll transform me in my sleep. That really would be beauty sleep wouldn't it?!

'Hearts will never be practical until they're made unbreakable...'

It doesn't take a lot for a person to fall in love, perhaps the person of their dreams, a beautiful car, or a pair if Levi jeans. Or shorts in my case. In 1853, before any of us were even considered, Levi Strauss started to make the first blue jeans, or waist overalls as they were dubbed. Levi 501's then became the best selling item of clothing; still to this day people are purchasing Levi's. I had decided i wanted a pair of Levi shorts, preferably remade ones, just my very own pair. I normally wear a size 8/10 in clothes, so was unsure which size to purchase.

I however have a nearby 'vintage' shop; I hunted down some Levi's in there and found that the 10 were a better fit for me. So, I bid on a pair of 'remade' Levi's off the eBay seller 'charlie3bear2007.' A few days and £24.43 later I had received my shorts. I was ecstatic for the whole, 'Hurrah, I've got my first pair of Levi shorts' reason, but disappointed, due to the fact I could've sewn the material on equally as well, if not better. That's not saying the job was done badly, because it wasn't. How they've done this I do not know, but I have seen people/businesses who have sewn their material under the loophole, instead of around. This feature makes it look like they were made originally to this design. Also, the material looks like it was tact on, apposed to a sewing machine stitch, or a more secure stitch. However, I have never seen a pair of Levi's like this, so they are unique, which is always a bonus as I like to be original and stand out. They also suit my less 'girly' side while still being relatively girly. I would highly recommend this seller, I have kept the shorts, and I am extremely pleased, so these issues can't really bother me that much can they? Can summer please hurry up? I have Levi's to be showing off!

'There's a snake in my boot!'

Everyday, once a day, you can guarantee you’ll hear at least one person complaining about their feet, they hurt, they’re wet, they’re sore. I used to be one of them people, until I met my friend, Doc Martens. When I think of vintage shoes, Docs are the first things that come to mind. I’d talk to my grandad about them and he’d give me the old ‘when I was a lad’ or my dad and his ‘I always wanted a pair.’ They truly are desirable shoes aren’t they? The day I bought my first pair, I fell in love. I no longer have wet/cold/achy feet, I now have beautiful feet. There are docs for every occasion, even a wedding if you can find some striking enough (which shouldn’t be too hard.)

When I wear ‘other’ shoes I’m just a normal person, as soon as I put on a pair of Docs I’m a fashion icon. ‘Did you see her shoes?’ ‘ I want some’ ‘wow.’ If you are a Doc virgin, you may look at a pair, look at the price and be totally put off. However, me and all the Doc Martens wearers/lovers (if you wear them you most definitely love them) can assure you it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. They last a lifetime, maturing and getting more attractive with age. The only down side, for me, is the laces. Who gives shoes laces that are too short? Where is the point in that?! Fortunately for me, I replace all my laces with ribbon. Pretty and original. What is your favorite vintage shoe? Feel free to send me a photo!
